Paul Filan (Newton) - Most Valuable Player Seeded No. 6, Newton repeated as SCIL Festival Champions by defeating Vernon 55-47 in the championship game played at Wallkill Valley Regional High School in Hardyston. Paul Filan, a 5-8 guard who netted 16 points for the Braves in the finale, was named the MVP. Roland Wildanger pumped a game-high 19 points through the iron while teammate Kevin Deignan chipped in with 13 points.
