5th-seeded Braves claim SCIL Festival crown

Seeded No. 5 as a result of a similar standing at the conclusion of the regular season, Newton rose to occasion and won the 2004 SCIL Bowling Festival on February 12 at Sparta Lanes in Sparta. The Braves anchor, Aaron Danielson, keyed the 7-0 rout of Hopatcong by putting together a 740 three-game series on scores of 225-247-268 while Matt DeHaas posted a series of 636 on games of 202-246-186. Holly Vaccaro finished with a three-game pin fall of 615 on games of 206-225-184.

SCIL Festival Quarterfinals

Hopatcong, Lenape Valley, Newton and Sparta advanced to the semifinals of the SCIL Bowling Festival on Monday at Sparta Lanes. Lenape Valley's Matt Vilardo swept the individual honors in the quarterfinals when he posted the high three-game series of 694 on games of 233-259-202 with his middle game edging the 257 tossed by Sparta's Tom Carcone for high game accolades.
Newton blanked Wallkill Valley 7-0 as Aaron Danielson bowled games of 234-247-204 to finish with a 685 three-game pin count.
