High Point utilized five consecutive majority decisions to cruise to a 48-6
victory over Newton in an SCIL wrestling match on February 11. The win was the 11th success for the Wildcats in
15 dual matches. Connor Perdisatt (135) and Kasey Campbell (189) produced pins for High Point.
Jason Grover (103), Ricky Culen (112), Ryan Forbeck (119), Greg Gase (125) and Scott Bosna (130) posted five straight
four-point wins.
Lauren Boyle netted a team-high 11 points as High Point averted an upset in edging Vernon 31-28 in Wantage on February
13. High Point led 12-11 at halftime before going on a 13-7 run in the third quarter to enter the final eight minutes
sporting a 25-18 lead. Aimee Stormes contributed eight points to the Wildcats 16th win in 19 outings.
High Point dropped a 55-52 verdict to Wallkill Valley on February 10 in Wantage. Mike Konopka tallied a career-high
21 points while Eric Caton turned in an 11-point effort.
High Point swamps Braves

High Point splashed to victories over Newton in SCIL boys and girls swim
action. The Wildcats swamped the Braves 113-45 while the Lady Wildcats raced to a 109-61 win over Newton. Garrett
Eagles doubled for the Wildcats winning the 200 individual medley in 2:42.36 and the 500 freestyle with a clocking
of 6:37.31.
In the girls’ competition, Nicole Ferlo was fastest to the finish wall in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:24.42
and placed first in the 500 freestyle when she was clocked in 6:27.69. Laurie Toth won the 200 individual medley
in 2:44.05 and the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:07.80.
High Point pinned a 51-12 defeat on Northern Valley/Demarest on Saturday. Jason Grover (103), Lee Tisler (140),
James Seck (160), Derek Orr (171), David Zabriskie (215) and Shawn Van Wingerden (275) posted pins for the Wildcats.
Brad Wilson deposited a team-high 13 points into the basket but High Point lost to Jefferson by a score of 75-42
in an SCIL boys’ basketball game.
High Point led 18-16 at intermission but could not overcome a 17-5 run by Jefferson in the third quarter and came
up on the short end of a 43-37 score in an SCIL girls’ hoops encounter, Aimee Storms was the top gun for High Point
with 14 points as she bombed four treys through the cords.
