Falcons repeat as girls' hoop champions

Published in Straus Newspapers - February 19, 2004

Last year, Jefferson shared the crown. This season, Jefferson is the champion of the SCIL girls' basketball regular season as the undefeated Falcons locked up the title with an 84-49 victory over Lenape Valley on February 10. It is the first outright title for Jefferson since 1993.
Lisa Koch keyed the clinching victory, turning in a triple-double performance. The junior point guard hit the hoop with a game-high 22 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and distributed 10 assists. Dedra Pritchard posted a double-double in a supporting role, scoring 10 points and pulling down 11 boards while Laura McKernan netted 15 points.
Three days later, Pritchard pumped 23 points through the iron, 17 of which came in the opening quarter when Jefferson outscored Kittatinny 18-12 on the way to a 57-28 victory. Koch chipped in with 14 points.
Zac Paone was on target from three-point range as Jefferson pulled out a 62-59 triumph over Kittatinny. Paone deposited six treys through the twine, finishing with a game-high 20 points while B;J. Stokes tallied 16 points and Adam Depko finished with an 11-point effort.
